Education in the native language

The act of learning and using one’s mother tongue is one of the fundamental rights of every human being. In other words: this right is indispensable, given its meaning for the development of one’s intellect and identity.

The IGMG is committed to maintain the tie between language and culture. Being capable of speaking the majority’s language requires the acquaintance of one’s mother tongue. Hence acquiring one’s mother tongue is an indispensable pre-condition for a successful integration.

The IGMG acknowledges the fact that learning both the mother tongue as well as the language of the majority constitutes an integrated whole which in turn sets up the basis for a conjoint culture.
