Eid al-Adha: The Joy of Fulfilling the Promise to Allah

Today, we observe the second of the two Eids in the Islamic world, Eid al-Adha. May your Eid be blessed! On this occasion, we are once again reminded, like Ibrahim (as) , Ismail (as), and Hajar (as), of the importance of surrendering to Allah, earning His pleasure and shaping our lives according to His commandments.

Submission to Allah

We are experiencing days of light upon light, joy upon joy. Tomorrow is the day of Arafah and the day after is Eid. No matter how much we praise Allah, it will never be enough.

To Gather and Resurrect: Hajj

The pilgrimage (Hajj) is not only an act of worship for us believers but also a spiritual journey. Hajj is performed at specific times and places as prescribed by Allah (swt). It is observed in the regions of Mecca, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah on the 8th, 9th, and 10th days of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah.

The Environment is Entrusted to Us

Allah (swt), by virtue of His name Al-Khaliq, created the universe perfectly out of nothing. In this universe, whose extent and bounds we are incapable of discovering, He made the world in the most beautiful way for His servants. He entrusted its cultivation and renewal to the children of Prophet Adam

Knowing the Value of Time

Allah (swt) has granted us, His creation, the gift of life. In our guide, the Holy Qur'an, it is stated: "He has made the night and the day, the sun and the moon, subservient to you; and the stars are in subjection to His command. Surely in this are signs for people who reason.” This verse draws attention to the passing of time. Our actions take place over time.

Brotherhood and Solidarity

Dear Brothers and Sisters!  In the Qur'an and in the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet (saw), the importance of brotherhood, which goes beyond blood ties, is emphasised. Allah the Almighty states in the Holy Qur'an: "The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.” This verse tells us that every...

Ethics in Trade

We live in a time where the body dominates the soul, the outward prevails over the inward, and the material overshadows the spiritual. We are in a time where materials that fulfill our needs are glorious.

Remaining Muslim in the Modern Age.

The Islamic religion to which we belong commands us to comprehend the purpose of our creation and to control our lives according to the guidance of the Quran and the Sunnah.

The Virtues of Memorising

The Qur'an is a divine book revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (saw) over a period of 23 years, sometimes verse by verse and sometimes as complete chapters. The arrangement and organisation of the Qur'an, determining which verse belongs to which chapter and the sequence of the chapters, were directly communicated to our Prophet by Allah through the angel Jabreel. Our Prophet himself established the order of the Qur'an as we have it today.

Preservation of Chastity

Chastity is staying away from the forbidden, avoiding unlawful and indecent words and behaviours, remaining within the bounds of modesty and decency, and living a life committed to moral values.

Continuing Fasting – Shawwal Fasting

We bid farewell to the Ramadan month with great joy. During Ramadan, we disciplined our willpower and souls through fasting.

Decision Night: Laylat-ul Qadr

Places like Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem, with their sacred significance, have gained special meaning and importance throughout history due to the events that have occurred there and the hospitality they have provided to prophets.
