On this occasion, we congratulate you on this blessed Night of Power and invite all our brothers and sisters to our mosques to revive and observe this night together. This night is better than a thousand months, it is a night when mercy is most abundant and forgiveness is closest. It is the night when the Qur’an was revealed, when the angels surround the earth and when hearts are filled with light. It is the deepest expression of a believer’s turning towards Allah. Allah (swt) says: “Indeed, We revealed the Qur’an on the Night of Power. And what will make you know what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.”[1] These verses not only tell us the value of this night, but also remind us of the meaning that the Qur’an brings into our lives. For Laylat al-Qadr is the moment when the Qur’an descended from the heavens to the earth and when the heart meets the light of revelation.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

Laylat al-Qadr is not a night that only occurred in the past and then passed. Rather, it is an opportunity that returns every year with the blessed month of Ramadan, renewing our bodies and souls, refreshing our faith, purifying our hearts and bringing blessings to our lives. The Qur’an was revealed on this night as guidance and mercy for humanity: “This is a Book which We have revealed to you so that you may bring people out of darkness into light, by the permission of their Lord, to the path of the Almighty, the One worthy of all praise.”[2]

Therefore, on this night, let us not only read the Qur’an, but also carry its teachings into our lives. For the Qur’an is not only a book, it is a guide for life that gives direction to individuals and guidance to society.

Dear Jama’ah!

Laylat al-Qadr is a night of supplication and forgiveness. When the Prophet (saw) was asked by our mother Aisha (ra), “What should I say if I encounter Laylat al-Qadr?”, he replied: “O Allah, You are Most Forgiving; You love to forgive, so forgive me.”[3] This night is a time to seek refuge in Allah’s forgiveness, to cleanse our hearts from the burdens of the past and to begin again with inner peace. Every act of repentance is an expression of a person’s return to Allah. Let us not forget that: “Whoever stands in prayer on Laylat al-Qadr with faith and hoping for reward from Allah will have their past sins forgiven.”[4] Therefore, let us turn our direction and our path towards Allah (swt), remain steadfast in following the footsteps of the Messenger of Allah (saw) and strive to show gratitude for the blessings that have been granted to us.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

Laylat al-Qadr is also a night of Ummah consciousness. Let us observe this night not only for our own salvation, but also for the revival of the Ummah. In our prayers and our charity, let us not forget the oppressed, the poor and the victims of war. This night is a night of prayer and solidarity for the unity and strength of the Ummah. The Qur’an calls upon us not only to be individuals who worship, but also to be a society that upholds justice.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

On Laylat al-Qadr, let us rebuild our lives with the Qur’an, let us illuminate our homes, our families, our work and our hearts with its light.

O Allah! Revive our hearts with the Qur’an, forgive our sins, and accept our prayers. Make this blessed night a means of unity for the Ummah and a mercy for humanity. Ameen

Dear Jama’ah!

Raising our children, who will shape our future, with a strong foundation of knowledge and good character is one of the most important responsibilities for all of us. Since 2014, our Mainz Islamic Theology Vocational School has been serving with this understanding. The school continues to educate young people who draw inspiration from their own values, build the future, are proficient in the local language and understand the culture and traditions of the society they live in. At the same time, it prepares them to become imams and preachers equipped with knowledge and strong moral character. Our school welcomes the children of your valued families in order to raise a generation guided by the Qur’an and Sunnah, responsible, capable and able to provide guidance to society. We invite our brothers and sisters who meet the requirements to take the first step on this blessed journey of knowledge by completing their registrations by 31 May.
