 <\/strong>Dear Brothers and Sisters!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Islam is a divine guide that gives life meaning and keeps a person on the straight path. This guidance has two main sources: the Qur\u2019an, the word of Allah, and the Sunnah of our Prophet (saw), which shows us how to put this divine message into practice in our lives. The Sunnah is the embodiment of revelation in life. More clearly, it is the transformation of the Quran into lived experience, of belief into action and of knowledge into character.<\/p>\n

Dear Brothers and Sisters!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Qur\u2019an provides us with fundamental principles and distinguishes right from wrong. The Sunnah, on the other hand, teaches us how to apply these principles in our daily lives. Allah (swt) expresses this reality in the following noble verses: \u201cWhatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you from, refrain from it. And be mindful of Allah. Indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.<\/em>\u201d[1]<\/a> \u201cWhoever obeys the Messenger has truly obeyed Allah. And as for those who turn away, We have not sent you as a guardian over them..\u201d<\/strong>[2]<\/a>  These verses clearly show that following the Prophet (saw) is a part of worshipping Allah. Valuing the Sunnah is essential for obeying Allah\u2019s command, understanding the religion correctly and living it authentically.<\/p>\n

Dear Jama\u2019ah!<\/strong><\/p>\n

In another verse, the Allah (swt) says: \u201cSay: If you love Allah, then follow me, so that Allah may love you and forgive your sins.\u201d[3]<\/a> <\/strong>This divine call shows that the Sunnah is not merely a formal practice, rather, it is a path that leads to the love of Allah. A Muslim can attain Allah\u2019s love only by loving His Prophet. It is he who conveyed Allah\u2019s revelation to us. We learned the Qur\u2019an and Islam through him. We learned from him which religion we belong to and what we must believe in. For this reason, the Ummah of Muhammad has held their Prophet dearer than their own selves and loved him above all else.<\/p>\n

Dear Brothers and Sisters!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Prophet (saw) explained the importance of his Sunnah for the Ummah with these words: \u201cI have left you two things. As long as you hold firmly to them, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger.\u201d[4]<\/strong><\/a><\/em> In another hadith, he said: \u201cWhoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me.\u201d[5]<\/strong><\/a> <\/em>These warnings clearly show that the Sunnah is one of the fundamental elements of Muslim identity. It is a guiding light that a Muslim needs throughout life in order to remain on the path of guidance and not deviate from the straight path. Turning away from the Sunnah means distancing oneself from the Prophet, it means living outside the framework of Islam that he conveyed and embodied.<\/p>\n

Dear Brothers and Sisters!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Prophet (saw) was not only a messenger who conveyed the Qur\u2019an completely and without addition, but also the one who explained how to understand and live by it, giving glad tidings to the believers, warning them, establishing rulings and purifying them. For this reason, his Sunnah provides guidance and sets the standard for us in all areas of life.<\/p>\n

Dear Jama\u2019ah!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Sunnah is not something of the past, it is a living roadmap that shapes our present-day. Especially in societies where we live as a minority, the strongest way to preserve our identity, character and direction is to hold firmly to both the Qur\u2019an and the Sunnah. May Allah (swt) make us among those who are sincerely devoted to the Qur\u2019an and the Sunnah and who live their lives as true believers and Muslims upon the straight path. Ameen.<\/p>\n
