Our Prophet’s Devotion to His Ummah

As a requirement of Allah (swt)’s infinite mercy and wisdom, He has not left His servants alone. He showed us how we can get closer to him and improve our relations with people through the prophets and books he has sent down.

Following the Sunnah and Avoiding Bid’ah

Allah (SWT) sent down our Holy Book Qur’an for the salvation and happiness of mankind and showed how to live it through our prophet (SAW).  As our Prophet ﷺ said “Definitely for those of you amongst you who hope for Allah’s mercy and Day of Judgment there is a good example in Allah’s Messenger.”

“Do Not Glorify Your Desires and Temptations!”

The most basic virtue of a Muslim is to submit their thoughts, Nafs and themselves to Allah (swt). For a believer, the only criterion that determines the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, good deeds and sins is the Wahi [Revelation].

We Are Responsible for The World

Prophet Salih (AS) has called out to his people by saying: “O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and responsive.”[1] There are many things we can learn from this call that is relevant to nowadays.

Khutba: Fake News and Misinformation

Dear Brothers and Sisters! In Today’s times we are constantly exposed to information overload. Especially with the development of social media, where the control is weak, people are caught in a surge of news that is questionable whether it is true or not. The news can quickly reach the masses and can lead to provocations.

Khutba: The Business and Commercial Life of a Mu’min

Dear Mu'mins! Our Almighty Lord orders us to look for livelihood through halal and legitimate ways, to also gain the maintenance of our family from what is halal. Accordingly, as it is our duty to involve with business and commercial life, it is also an act for commendation and appreciation. From this perspective, a commercial approach that is in-line with the legitimate frame which our religion draws and that minds the rightful due of other people should be one of the fundamental commercial perspectives of a Muslim.

Khutba: Transitioning Knowledge into Action

Dear Believers! We all know that seeking knowledge is Fard upon us all. The knowledge that is fard upon all of us is “ilm-I Hal” – The knowledge and rulings to get us through our worldly responsibilities and religious requirements such as faith, ethics, wudu, prayer, fasting, zakat, haj, wedding and business. Obtaining religious knowledge in Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh and Kalām - also general worldly knowledge in medicine, engineering, architecture and history is fard kifāyah, which means that it is not obligatory anymore for the individual to specialise in these fields, if enough people already deal with it. Despite this, knowledge should not be our sole purpose. As knowledge is a tool and actions are our aim.

Value of Time

Allah (swt) the owner of time and everything says, “Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon. And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.”[1]. Human existence is dependent on place and time. In these realities created by Allah (swt), all creatures, especially us, maintain their liveliness. Since a place is a tangible asset, its value is more easily understood. However, since time is an intangible entity, we, as servants, can sometimes be neglectful about understanding its value and giving it its due. However, realising the importance of time and using our days, hours, minutes and even seconds accordingly is one of the conditions for our success in this world and the next.

Khutba: Understanding the Day of Ashura

Dear Brothers and Sisters! In the history of mankind, many important events occurred on the Day of Ashura, which comes on the tenth of the month of Muharram. The blessed grandchild of our Muhammad (saw), Hussain (r.a), was killed on the Day of Ashura together with seventy-two other people beside Him. Again, it is narrated that the ship of Prophet Noah (a.s.) had escaped from the flood and that Prophet Moses (a.s.) had passed the Red Sea with his people on the Day of Ashura that comes on the tenth of Muharram.

Today’s Migration

Verehrte Muslime!

Khutba: Communication Amongst Spouses

Dear Brothers and Sisters! Allah (swt), After creating Adam (as), he also created Hawa (as). In the Qur'an, Allah (swt) says: “And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquillity in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.”

Khutba: Preparing for Marriage

Dear Brothers and Sisters! Whilst counting the blessings Allah (swt) has bestowed upon us he mentions in the Quran: “And We created you in pairs.” And there is no doubt that the marriage bond between a man and a woman is the most beautiful bond between two people. In order to emphasise the importance of marriage, Rasulallah (saw) addressed the youth as follows: “O young men, whoever among you can afford it, let him get married, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding chastity, and whoever cannot then he should fast, for it will be a restraint for him.” Therefore, a believer finds the opportunity to complete his religion by protecting himself from haram through marriage.
