Kur'an Sayfası Tesbih Ahşap

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

Facing saddening days for the past months with natural disasters around the world and endless sufferings of the Ummah, we look forward to Laylatul Qadr [Night of Power], which will be a means of inspiration and peace. On next Monday, we will meet the Night of Power with the grace of Allah (swt). Allah (swt) mentions in the Quran, Indeed, We sent it [i.e., the Qur’ān] down during the Night of Decree. And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.”[1] Praise be to Allah (swt) who has brough us to these special days. May Laylatul Qadr be a blessing to all Muslims around the world.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

Just as the sultan of the months is the blessed month of Ramadan, the pearl of the nights is the Night of Power.  Rasulullah (saw) has said, “Whoever spends the Night of Power in worship, their past sins will be forgiven.”[2] This precious night takes its essential value from the fact that the Qur’an was sent down in order to bring all humanity from the darkness of oppression and ignorance to the enlightenment of Islam. The Qur’an, was sent down for the purpose of reading, understanding and living what is understood. Those who internalise the principles and values revealed by the Qur’an and organise their lives under the guidance of the Qur’an, will achieve happiness both in this world and in the hereafter.

The Qur’an will continue to inform and show the truth to all humanity until the Day of Judgment. Pleased are the people who hold fast to the Qur’an and follow the straight path shown by it.

Dear Jama’ah!

The example of how to revive this glorious night is of course shown by Rasulullah (saw) as he said, “Look for the Night of Power in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan!”[3] In addition, Aisha (ra) asked how we should make dua during this night. Rasulullah (saw) advised by mentioning the following dua, “Oh Allah! You are Forgiving and love forgiveness so forgive me.” According to what is narrated by Aisha (ra), The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to worship more in the last ten days of Ramadan than the other days of Ramadan.[4] During this period, the Prophet would revive the night by, waking up his household, and continuing to pray sincerely.[5] Let’s revive these nights properly, increase our voluntary prayers and seek repentance. Let’s pray for all humanity and our brothers and sisters around the world. Let’s pray for the regions destroyed by the earthquake, Palestine and East Turkestan.

Dear Brothers and Sisters!

Let’s revive this special night properly in order to achieve salvation on the Night of Power. Let’s bring our servitude to Allah (swt) to the top with our worship. Let’s not forget to attend the programs to be held in our mosques on the Night of Power with all our family members. Let’s not forget that the mercy of Allah (swt) is on the congregation.

May Allah (swt) make us amongst his content servants who know the value of the Qur’an, which was revealed in the Night of Power. Ameen!
