Khutba: An Awakening with Ramadan

09. April 2021
Dear Honourable Muslims! In the ayah that I have just read, Allah (swt) says, “O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you…” In the hadith that I have just read Prophet Muhammed (saw) provides us with the following glad tidings, "Whoever fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah's rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven."

Dear Congregation! Our Lord, out of His mercy, has revealed our friend and our enemy. For example, he declared that Satan and his army were our enemies in Surah Fatir: “Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you; so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze”. What we need is not to be friends with our enemy, Satan and his friends. Because the devil wishes us to obey the what Allah has forbidden.

Khutba: The Night of Acquittal as a means for Allah’s Forgiveness

25. March 2021
Dear Brothers! When we were nearing the month of Rajab, we were making the dua of our Prophet ﷺ: “O Allah, bless us in Rajab and Sha`bān and enable us to reach Ramadan”. We have completed the month of Rajab, may Allah accept our deeds in this month. We are currently in the middle of the month of Sha’ban. According to Usama bin Zaid (r.a), apart from Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ observed the most amount of fasting during the month of Sha’ban. When asked about his many fasts during Sha’ban the Prophet responded “That is a month to which people do not pay attention, between Rajab and Ramadan, and it is a month in which deeds are lifted up to the Lord of the Worlds. I like for my deeds to be lifted up when I am fasting.”
